Introducing the Unity Watch — crafted to honour the legacy of Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma. On a historic day in 1984, Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma’s voice carried across the cosmos, marking a defining chapter in India’s space exploration journey. From aboard the Soviet spacecraft Soyuz T-11, gazing at Earth from a vantage point few have ever known, he was asked, “How does India look from space?” With profound pride and awe, he replied, “Saare Jahan Se Accha.” These words, immortalized in history, embodied not only the splendour of Earth from above but also the unyielding spirit of a united India, reaching for limitless horizons. Reflecting on that monumental experience, Sharma noted, "Time takes on a different meaning when you view our planet from space."
